        Biography of Mukesh Dhamala

        Dr. Mukesh Dhamala is currently a faculty member in the department of physics and neuroscience institute at Georgia State University (GSU) in Atlanta, USA. He teaches physics and neuroimaging courses, and directs research in neuroscience and neurophysics. His current research explores the neural mechanisms for human decision-making, human epilepsy, brain restoration after stroke and rehabilitative treatments, and neuronal network oscillations and synchronization. His research aims to bring physics and brain science discoveries into clinical applications to improve human health. He is a leading expert in brain network activity analysis methods, such as spectral Granger causality for brain imaging and electrophysiological data. He received a US NSF CAREER award for his research program in 2010. He joined Georgia State University (GSU) in the fall of 2007. Prior to joining GSU, he held a research assistant scientist position in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Florida from 2004 to 2007. Before that, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at several institutions including Georgia Institute of Technology, Emory University and Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Dhamala received his PhD in theoretical physics from the University of Kansas, USA in 2000.

        The Open Neuroimaging Journal is an Open Access online journal, which publishes research articles, reviews, letters, case reports and guest-edited single topic issues in all areas of brain function, structure and organization including neuroimaging, neuroradiology, analysis methods, functional MRI acquisition and physics, brain mapping, macroscopic level of brain organization, computational modeling and analysis, structure-function and brain-behavior relationships, anatomy and physiology, psychiatric diseases and disorders of the nervous system, use of imaging to the understanding of brain pathology and brain abnormalities, cognition and aging, social neuroscience, sensorimotor processing, communication and learning. Bentham Open ensures speedy peer review process and accepted papers are published within 2 weeks of final acceptance.

        The Open Neuroimaging Journal is committed to ensuring high quality of research published. We believe that a dedicated and committed team of editors and reviewers make it possible to ensure the quality of the research papers. The overall standing of a journal is in a way, reflective of the quality of its Editor(s) and Editorial Board and its members.

        The Open Neuroimaging Journal is seeking energetic and qualified researchers to join its editorial board team as Editorial Board Members or reviewers.

        The essential criteria to become Editorial Board Members of The Open Neuroimaging Journal are as follows:

        1. Experience in brain function, structure and organization including neuroimaging, neuroradiology, analysis methods, functional MRI acquisition and physics, brain mapping, macroscopic level of brain organization, computational modeling and analysis, structure-function and brain-behavior relationships, anatomy and physiology, psychiatric diseases and disorders of the nervous system, use of imaging to the understanding of brain pathology and brain abnormalities, cognition and aging, social neuroscience, sensorimotor processing, communication and learning with an academic degree.
        2. At least 20 publication records of articles and /or books related to the field of brain function, structure and organization including neuroimaging, neuroradiology, analysis methods, functional MRI acquisition and physics, brain mapping, macroscopic level of brain organization, computational modeling and analysis, structure-function and brain-behavior relationships, anatomy and physiology, psychiatric diseases and disorders of the nervous system, use of imaging to the understanding of brain pathology and brain abnormalities, cognition and aging, social neuroscience, sensorimotor processing, communication and learning or in a specific research field.
        3. Proficiency in English language.

        The Roles of Editorial Board Member are to:

        1. Offer advice on journals’ policy and scope.
        2. Submit or solicit at least one article for the journal annually.
        3. Contribute and/or solicit Guest Edited thematic issues to the journal in a hot area (at least one thematic issue every two years).
        4. Peer-review of articles for the journal, which are in the area of expertise (2 to 3 times per year).
